About Us
Ceilidh Collies is a family affair; Three generations of our family are involved with our dogs. The love of the breed started, like most others, with Albert Payson Terhune books until it finally culminated in a desire to help the preservation and advancement of this breed after a trip to the Collie Club of America National Specialty in 1998. Our line is finally coming into fruition and becoming recognizable while cementing our personal style and most valued virtues.
Ceilidh is an AKC Breeder of Merit, AKC Bred With H.E.A.R.T, members of the Collie Club of America, Collie Health Foundation, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Herding Group Club
Our Foundation
We have based our line around several lines and dogs that possessed virtues we wanted to build upon and combine into a single family. Our pedigrees are built through endless study and the generosity and experience of those that came before us.
Our line and type is heavily influenced by two dogs we bred in the 2000’s, Chanel and Robin. Both were one-in-a-million dogs that embodied and produced the virtues that we strive to maintain and stamp.

Laa-Laa
Laa-Laa is the life of the party! She’s all about fun and absolutely adores people. A natural in the ring, she loves to strut her stuff and happily work for cookies. Named after the Teletubby as one of four puppies from our 2023 “Telepubbies” litter, Laa-Laa is completely charming, endlessly endearing, and always ready for a good roughhouse. Her funniest trick? Say “Laa-Laa hat,” and she’ll come flying in from anywhere to tuck her head into your hands on cue — she takes her signature move very seriously!
Laa-Laa will be remaining with us for the time being as she continues her show and breeding career, but we like to thoughtfully begin watching for the right future home. She is good with other dogs and does a lovely job of matching their energy. Laa-Laa is also great in a crate and on leash. Currently waiting in the wings for her next time in the ring, she will do best with a family that appreciates her outgoing personality and playful spirit when her retirement time eventually arrives.
Laa-Laa is MDR1 M/N, DMS Aabb (Low Risk), and has a good eye check. These results have no expected impact on her overall health beyond standard MDR1 medication awareness recommended for the breed.
